Benjamin T. Jordan
Associate Professor of the Practice Engineering ManagementBen Jordan has a long career in executive training and management development in numerous diverse businesses, in addition to teaching EngM 244 Applied Behavioral Science for 20 years at Vanderbilt. He served as Co- Principal and Consultant for Strategic Education Initiatives Inc. for over 10 years. In this capacity, he developed, marketed and trained business and educational professionals in process communications, organizational development, sales training, productivity programs, team building and performance appraisal for private industry, governmental agencies, and educational institutions. Major clients included a wide client base with such companies as Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta, GA; Ford Financial and Primus Automotive Financial Services, Brentwood, TN; Veterans Administration,in,,Nashville TN and Murfreesboro, TN; USF&G Insurance, Nashville, TN; Georgia Department of Human Services, Richland College, Dallas TX; Nortel, Inc. in Nashville, TN; Southern Regional Council in Atlanta, GA; and the United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, TN. His research at Vanderbilt focuses on executive training and development, team building, conflict resolution, supervisory skills training, enhanced communication, and other behavioral sciences that support engineering management careers. Professor Jordan has a B.A. degree in History from Mercer University (1965); a Master’s degree in Social Ethics from Yale University (1968), and a Ph.D. degree in Ethics and Society from Emory University (1974). |
