Summer 2000

June 6, 2000. Revised Presentation Schedule for Marketing Plans. I have posted a revised presentation schedule, which you may access from the Marketing Plan Guidelines page.

May 25, 2000. IMPORTANT REMINDER. When opening lectures, PLEASE be sure to click on the NOTES VIEW so that you can see the very extensive text that accompanies the slides. For a fuller explanation, see Downloading Lecture Notes, which you would have found when you went to the Session 1 page.

May 25, 2000. New Forum for Questions about Assignments. In a traditional class, when the instructor presents an assignment, students are given an opportunity to ask questions that may help clarify the assignment. Sometimes there is some class discussion about it. Since everyone hears what is said, everyone benefits equally, so no plagiarism or honor code violation has occurred. I'd like to give you the same opportunity. So I have created a new conference forum entitled "Questions about Assignments" and will be inserting a separate thread within the forum for each assignment (starting with the @RISK exercise). I strongly encourage you to use this forum if you do have questions, so all can benefit.

May 24, 2000. Revised Due Dates for Assignments, Discussion Comments. Per our agreement, I have changed the beginning and ending dates for the sessions from Friday to Sunday, 6 PM (see Lectures page). That will include due dates for assignments and discussion comments. The only exception is the last week of class, when the ending date remains 6 PM, Aug. 11.

May 24, 2000. @RISK Assignment - Some Additional Info.

  1. The images of the @RISK windows in the @RISK lecture notes are from the previous version of @RISK (3.5). They will differ slightly in appearance from what you'll see in the version (4.0.1) that you bought, but the content is the same.

  2. The @RISK assignment asks that you limit your submission to two typewritten pages. I'll accept additional pages if you need them.

  3. Please remember to incorporate your spreadsheet tables and charts into your Word file that you will submit. (I must be able to see your work to fairly evaluate your submission.)

May 21, 2000. Marketing Plan Presentation Schedule. Each week one class member or team will be asked to post their marketing plan (completed through the section assigned for that week).

Presenter: When your week comes up on the Conference, please post your plan early in the week as a Word file attachment.

Other Class Members: During the week, please review the plan and offer comments and suggestions to the presenter. Unless your comments are very brief (a sentence or two), please comment directly in the presenter's Word file using the "Comment" tool in the Insert pulldown menu and then include the file as an attachment to your posting. Subsequent commenters should insert their comments on the file that the previous commenter has posted (rather than the original file) so that at the end, the presenter has all reviewers' comments on one file.
